HOTEL FRANK ROOMS
Frank is stylish
As in fashion, every good makeover capitalizes on the strengths of classic elements, and the renovation of Hotel Frank is no exception. Award-winning interior designer Thomas Schoos brilliantly re-interpreted the old and new elements of the 100 year old hotel into a seamlessly integrated blend of contemporary and time-honored design.
Simply stated, Hotel Frank is bold and beautiful. It’s a fashion-forward thinking design statement in the making. Like a pin-striped suit or vintage Rolex in fashion, some elements of interior design are timeless. But at Hotel Frank, “time-less” is boldly redefined. Here, the changing styles that have influenced San Francisco through the ages are artfully synthesized into a contemporary, eclectic homage to stylistic change.
In this new interpretation, “time-less” reflects iconic nods to the inspiration of artful design throughout the decades - from the sumptuous, turn-of-the-century Beaux Art classicism, to the tailored lines of 40’s Art Deco. From retro mod 60’s chic, to hip, new millennium styling, the hotel comes alive with a harmonious blend of ageless and up-to-the-minute shapes, textures, and colors.
The hotel is anchored with the distinctive, classic and eye-catching houndstooth pattern found in the bold carpet design, lobby walls and elevator cabs. The lobby “pops” with an exciting and sculptural juxtaposition of sharp lines, curved edges, and fanciful surfaces.
Like the simple black dress, the houndstooth pattern is further “accessorized” in the guest rooms. Gilded picture frames cling to the walls like a vintage brooch, the emerald green crocodile print seating cubes and headboards capture high-style elegance like the hottest Manolos, and the whimsical, bulbous glass light fixtures dangle delicately from the ceiling like major bling.
